Kitchen ceiling - repair & upgrade.

Google review:

Following a leak in the roof above the kitchen, the 1970’s style ceiling tiles became substantially damaged with water marks.

A number of options were discussed with the home owners for how best to attend to the issues of the damaged kitchen ceiling.

It became evident that finding replacement tiles was not a likely or feasible option.

Plastering, stopping and painting, the continuous kitchen and dining room ceiling was one option discussed. That option would have involved substantial labour hours, and would have delivered only an overly simplistic aesthetic end result.

Ultimately, the agreed solution involved sourcing architectural quality plywood panels, and testing various oil options to come up with a finish that matched the existing kitchen cupboard doors.

The final solution was a modern dropped ceiling design, that was in keeping with the existing kitchen decor, and conveniently delineating the kitchen ceiling from the ceiling of the rest of living area space.
