The sub-base beneath this busy parking area had been errored over time, due to surface rain water penetrating beneath the pavers and undermining the base course. As a result, the paved surface had become uneven, allowing water and mud to pool in places.
The pavers were lifted and stacked aside. The sub-base was infilled and re-prepared - additional attention was given to this part of the process to help ensure longevity given its heavy usage during weekdays.
The existing pavers were then re-laid, and concrete haunching added along the garden edge to better retain the border paving stones.
The client was really happy with the finished result, and their staff are happy that they won’t now have to walk through mud and water on their way to work (especially as the winter months approach).
