Repaired Cavity Door:
Our client, a busy medical centre, was having problems with the cavity-slider door in their only public-use toilet.
The door was not sliding, closing or locking properly.
We investigated the problem, identified the causes, and provided our client with multiple options for remediation.
Once our client had confirmed their preferred option, we moved promptly to fix the problem and get the door working again.
During:
We needed to work quickly, to avoid the facility remaining out-of-use for too long.
One of our specialists carefully removed part of the door frame in order to access the hanging-roller mechanism.
The hanging-roller was adjusted, to lift one side of the door, and to realign the locking mechanism.
After testing and adjusting the door alignment several times, to ensure the door was closing and locking correctly, the door trim was re-attached, and with minimal damage to the door surrounds.
Finally, we touched us the surrounding paint work, and left the area looking tidy and professional.
Before:
One of the hanging door rollers had dropped, and the door had become miss-aligned.
The vertical alignment of the door was by about a centimetre out, with a noticeable gap at the bottom.
As a result, the locking mechanism in the door was not connecting with the hook-bolt in the doorframe, meaning the door couldn’t be locked properly.
